2008 Redland Summer Classic


Information

Welcome to the 20th Annual Redland Summer Classic 

 

Dates:  August 16 & 17, 2008

Location: Central Pennsylvania (Harrisburg area)

Competition: Girls/Boys U-9 (8v8), U-10 (8v8), U-11, U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, and U16.  U-17 & U19 (Girls only).

NOTE: Age Divisions are based on the 2008/2009 Season 

Under 9 and U10 Age Groups roster size is limited to (14) players.

U11 to U16 teams are limited to eighteen (18) players. U17-U19 teams are allow to roster up to 22 players. All players must be listed on a state approved roster and have a current valid player pass.  Teams using guest players may have no more than three (3) guest players subject to the roster limits above.

Teams will play a minimum of three (3) games, with finals on Sunday afternoon.  Where possible, a Club and a Premier level of play will be offered.  The tournament director reserves the right to combine levels of play if a smaller number of applications are received for a particular age group.

Awards: Individual awards will be presented to the first and second place teams in each age group and level of play.

Application: The deadline for submitting applications is July 1, 2008. Applications postmarked after July 1st will be accepted on an 'as needed' basis to complete open brackets.The entry fee is $450.00 ($400.00 for U-9 and U-10) per team. To apply, complete the application form and mail it with a check to: Nevin Shenck Tournament Director, Redland Summer Classic, 575 Red Mill Rd, Etters, PA 17319. Teams will be notified of acceptance by July 15, 2008.  Teams withdrawing after acceptance or failing to compete in all scheduled tournament games will forfeit their FULL tournament fee.   

Headquarters: The Tournament Headquarters will be located at the Harrisburg Holiday Inn Hotel and Convention Center, I-83 and PA Turnpike, New Cumberland, PA 17070  (717) 774-2721  on Friday, August 15th. On Saturday, August 16th and Sunday, August 17th the Tournament Headquarters will be located at the RedLand Soccer Complex.          

Attractions:  Area attractions include Hershey Park, Gettysburg Battlefield, State Capitol and Museum, Harrisburg's City Island, Lancaster County Amish, Harrisburg Civil War Museum, and various historic sites.
